First episodes always set the mood, and this one does exactly that, but with a mysterious charm. The pacing is a bit slow at the start, but it builds up later. I enjoyed the overall atmospheric vibe. The animation during the first combat sequence looked pretty fluid for its time. The subject matter felt interesting to me.
