Episode eighteen is a philosophically packed one, Raul acts as a "Deus ex machina" figure believing humans have no need for gods, I would believe Daedalus agrees but his obsession with the Proxy poses him as someone who want's to understand and harness their divine nature. They're the seeds for a story of humanity against gods.
