Electric Full Flower Garden
Oshimeter
Synopsis
In Akihabara's near future of 2037, the yakuza have reinvented themselves as electricity barons. That's the setup for Denki Musou Hana, a 2-episode OVA from Cutie Bee that mashes cyberpunk weirdness with classic yakuza territorial drama in ways you wouldn't expect from something this short. The Kanto Cyber Imaginary Number Group wants to light up a massive adult entertainment complex using surplus power, which would effectively muscle out the rival Nakahara-gumi by flooding their turf with neon. The catch? Nakahara can't let that happen — his partner Arika has a rare condition where her body goes into dangerous spasms triggered by neon light. So what starts as a cold power struggle between criminal factions gets personal fast. It's a lot of premise packed into a short runtime, and honestly the futuristic twist on the whole 'boss protecting someone he loves' story gives it more weight than you'd expect. If you've watched Demon Flowers or anything in that vein and wanted more of a sci-fi edge to the setting, this scratches that itch. Fans of Denki-Gai's Akihabara atmosphere might find the contrast interesting too — same neighborhood, very different mood. Don't go in expecting a slow burn character study; it moves quickly and leans into its strange premise with confidence. The blend of near-future technology and very human stakes is what makes it stick.
