Synopsis

Claude is a broke scholar scraping by in England when his world is upended by a counselor named Sophie, who shows up and tells him he's now the Lord of Ronsard. No gradual rise to power, no training arc — just a guy suddenly responsible for an entire city in late 19th-century Europe. It's a sharp setup, and the show leans into the weight of that transition with a political undercurrent that actually has some teeth. The exiled former lord Eric isn't happy about being replaced, and his plan to assassinate Claude gives the story a genuine sense of threat underneath all the other goings-on. Add Mylene, the mansion's maid, into the mix, and you've got a character dynamic that drives most of what unfolds across the two episodes. Being a Studios Arms production adapted from a visual novel, the mature content is the main draw here, but the European aristocratic setting and the power-struggle framing give it more texture than most entries in the genre bother with. If you've seen something like Kuro no Danshou or Bible Black and appreciated how they use narrative backdrop to ground the erotic elements, this sits comfortably in that same space. It's not trying to be a prestige drama, but the atmosphere is consistent and the setting genuinely feels distinct. For a two-episode OVA from 2003, it does more world-building than you'd expect.
