Van accidentally gets himself into a marriage competition with a tribe of mermaid-like people just by being kind to them, and it's as delightfully absurd as it sounds. The water volleyball and shaved ice eating contest had me laughing more than I expected. It's a filler-ish episode but in the best way, the kind that reminds you why this show is such a good comfort watch. Not every episode needs to be serious, and this one leans into the silliness perfectly.
It's really funny how Van always ends up getting himself into all sorts of situations, and this one is no exception. Building relationships with new people will help both him and his town grow. Once again, Van is up to his old tricks.
The Wood Walkers are so intense! Seeing them compete for Van’s 'favour' by hunting massive monsters was hilarious and epic at the same time. I love how Van just wants to build things but ends up leading a literal army of rare forest people.
