Watching the Trollocs tear through the village was brutal and the character designs for the monsters actually looked pretty scary in motion

Moiraine just blurting out that one of them is the Dragon Reborn felt way too fast and it ruined all the mystery of the first few chapters

I keep thinking about the Dragon Reborn potentially being a woman because it totally flips the core mechanics of the world on its head

Episode Context

A deliberate, atmospheric series opener that prioritizes foundation over action. 'Return' introduces Kakeru, son of the legendary knight Takeru, and immediately frames his story as one defined by inherited legacy and reluctant duty. The tone balances nostalgic reverence for past heroics with a creeping sense of urgency, darkness is moving, and Kakeru cannot ignore it. Pacing is measured and intentional, giving weight to character introductions rather than rushing into conflict. The enigmatic Eto serves as a narrative compass, hinting at the road ahead without revealing too much. Fans of classic fantasy setups built on lineage, destiny, and the cost of a hero's calling will find this episode earns its slower tempo. Expect atmosphere, world-grounding, and the first rumblings of a larger threat in Lucifon.
