Dragon Heart: Reikai Tanbouki

Ryusuke, a junior high student, visits his cousin Tomomi in Tokushima during summer vacation. While exploring the Anabuki River, they are swept away by the current. Rescued by a dragon, they are brought before an old man who reveals they are dead. To return to life, they must journey through the spirit world and find their purpose. Their adventure begins in a gloomy town reminiscent of the 1960s, where they witness horrifying acts of violence and medical malpractice. People die and are resurrected, revealing the town to be a hellish landscape. Ryusuke and Tomomi realize the perilous nature of their situation, but their journey into the unknown spirit world continues, with the ultimate goal of discovering their mission in life and escaping their current fate.
