I was not prepared for how hard the ending of this episode would hit me. Seeing Gohan find that little piece of the robot in the sand, and watching the light fade out, was just devastating. It really feels like the first time he truly understands what he is up against in the wilderness, and why Piccolo is being so hard on him.
