I never saw this episode back in the day because the old dubs skipped it so seeing Gohan deal with the robot’s death for the first time actually made me pretty sad. It’s definitely filler but it makes his time alone in the wilderness feel so much more lonely, especially when he has to leave his friend buried under all that desert sand
