goku telling frieza that his ego is going to get him killed is such a cold line especially when frieza is literally trying to fight with just his feet

that ginyu frog and bulma body swap stuff is so weird and it feels so out of place right in the middle of the big fight
hoho_hurricane's avatar

the estimate of five minutes is hilarious since everyone knows that actually means ten more episodes and the pacing is dragging so much even if the fighting looks great

Seeing those flashbacks of King Vegeta and Nappa really helps show how much history is behind this fight, but then the show just stops to show a frog swapping bodies with Bulma and it is such a strange choice because Frieza is acting so terrifying and then you have a frog lady running around and distracting from the main event and big fight

frieza saying he wont even use his hands to fight goku is the most arrogant thing i have ever seen and i love how much of a hater he is

watching frieza dodge everything and only use his legs to kick goku around is a massive show off and it makes me wonder how goku is even going to touch him

it is cool that frieza finally notices that goku looks exactly like bardock and those tiny glimpses of the past make the namek fight feel way more personal

His ego is his biggest weakness and Frieza looked so flustered after Goku forced him to use his arms to block

That tail bite was the funniest thing in the whole Namek arc so far and Goku really will do anything to survive this fight

Bulma getting swapped with Ginyu is so random and it is hard to take the main fight seriously when there is a talking frog running around

The way Frieza just toys with people makes him such a terrifying villain, and seeing him forced to use his arms felt like a small victory even if things look bad. King Kai dropping the bomb about the x10 Kaio-ken really changed the mood because it means Goku has no more tricks left, and he is still struggling against a monster

Playing around with no hands makes Frieza such a jerk and it was so satisfying when Goku finally landed that hit to prove him wrong

My stomach dropped when King Kai said Goku is already at his limit, because Frieza looks like he hasn't even broken a sweat yet

Finding out Goku has been using the Kaio-ken x10 this whole time actually terrified me because Frieza is still just playing around with him

Ginyu stealing Bulma's body is actually the weirdest thing ever and poor Bulma is just stuck as a frog in the dirt

Frieza had to use his hands after talking all that trash and he really thought he could just kick his way through this whole fight

I was dying when Goku bit Frieza's tail and the look on Frieza's face was worth the whole episode honestly

The pacing is a bit slow because of all the side scenes on Earth, but Goku biting Frieza on the tail made up for the filler

Frieza is way too cocky and I love how Goku keeps finding ways to make him look stupid during their battle on Namek

Bulma still thinks she is a genius even when she is a literal frog and the whole Ginyu body swap plot is totally ridiculous

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the legendary Frieza saga, episode 89 escalates directly from the explosive exchanges of 'Clash of the Super Powers,' where Goku and Frieza first tested each other at full tilt. This installment sharpens the psychological dimension of their rivalry, leaning into Frieza's overconfidence as a narrative pressure point. It builds toward 'Bold and Fearless,' where the battle's intensity continues to ratchet up as both fighters push closer to their absolute limits.
