It is insane how fast the situation changed when Buu decided to wipe out every living person on Earth. Piccolo made a really tough call by letting it happen just to buy Goten and Trunks more time in the chamber, but it shows how much he trusts the Dragon Balls. Seeing the cities just disappear from above was actually terrifying.
