Why is Goku teaching them a dance instead of showing them Super Saiyan 3 though and he says it is the only way but the logic seems a bit shaky

Goku is such a bad dad for leaving the fate of the planet to two children but the Metamoran dance looks so ridiculous that you cannot even be mad. Watching them fail the sync and knowing they might end up as a fat or skinny version of themselves makes the tension feel different than usual and it really changes the vibe of the fight

Metamoran fusion is a total game changer for the series and those synchronized poses really show how much the show has changed since the early days

I still remember trying to do that stupid dance with my brother in the living room and failing every time and seeing Goku do those goofy poses while the world is ending is funny

It made me laugh to see Goku get all serious about the Finger Touch, especially since he looks ridiculous while the world is at stake

Fusion steps are way more complicated than they look and I am mostly thinking about how hard it must be to match power levels that perfectly

Maybe fusion is better than Super Saiyan 3, but watching those kids try to match their energy is what actually matters in this episode

Synchronized poses are hilarious when the world is actually ending and watching Goku keep a straight face while doing them is great

Having to match power levels exactly is such a weird requirement but seeing them try to sync up is entertaining

Goku looks like he is about to collapse and it really shows how much that super saiyan 3 form drains the life out of him

if their fingers do not touch perfectly they end up fat or skinny and that kind of pressure would stress anyone out

i really liked how goku realized he cannot be the one to save everyone this time, and passing the torch to goten and trunks feels like a big moment for his character even if the dance itself looks a bit silly, and i am curious if the thirty minute limit is going to screw them over later during the fight

buu just blowing up cities and then acting like a toddler is a weird dynamic but it makes him more unpredictable than cell

watching goku demonstrate the dance was the best part and it shows he actually cares about the future of earth after he is gone

it makes me a bit sad that goku has to leave soon and he is basically putting the fate of the world on two little kids

potara might be stronger and easier to use, but there is something more rewarding about the dance being so technical and hard to pull off

matching power levels seems like a huge pain and one small mistake with a finger ruins the whole thing

i am honestly so hyped to see goten and trunks try the fusion dance because goku making those poses was hilarious

majin buu turning people into food while being all happy is genuinely creepy and it is hard to tell if you should laugh or be scared

goku teaching the kids is such a change of pace and seeing him act like a mentor instead of just fighting everything himself is cool

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 247 of 291, this falls squarely in the mid-to-late Buu Saga, after the devastating losses that forced the Z Fighters to seek unconventional strategies and before Fusion yields its most spectacular results. The preceding episodes established Majin Buu as a threat beyond any single warrior's ability to handle, pushing Goku to teach Goten and Trunks this desperate technique. This episode sets the mechanical and comedic groundwork for the Fusion payoffs that will define the saga's climactic battles ahead.
