Can not wait to experience DBZ the way it was suppose to be in the manga. I still love DBZ but it was dragged out a lot. Manga experience was way superior so this has the potential to be in my top 3.

Episode Context

As episode 1 of 97, this is the opening move of the Saiyan Saga and the entire Kai series, there's no prior episode to build from, so it bridges the gap between the original Dragon Ball's conclusion and Z's escalation into cosmic-scale threats. The peaceful reintroduction of Goku's world exists specifically so the arriving danger lands with maximum impact, setting up a chain of events that will define the next stretch of episodes. Everything that follows in the Saiyan Saga spirals directly from what this episode puts into motion.
