Episode Context

This is episode 7 of 61, still early in the Buu Saga's tournament stretch. The previous episode introduced mysterious new fighters that raised the stakes beyond a simple competition, and this installment begins paying off that setup as the adult matches reveal just how unusual the field really is. The next episode escalates sharply with Videl's brutal fight and Gohan's rising fury, so this serves as the calm-before-the-storm transition where lighthearted tournament fun starts giving way to darker developments.
