Episode Context

Sitting at episode 49 of 61, this lands deep in the Buu Saga's endgame stretch, just after Gohan's powered-up return seemed to decisively tip the scales, this episode violently course-corrects the conflict by giving Buu a horrifying counter-strategy. It directly sets up a critical rescue mission in the following episode, shifting the narrative from open combat to a far more desperate scenario that will carry the series toward its final act.
