Episode Context

Sitting near the midpoint of the Buu saga, this episode follows directly from the Dragon Ball revival of those killed and pivots the series into a full preparation phase, the heroes are no longer reacting but actively strategizing against Babidi and Majin Buu. It establishes the two critical power-up paths (the Z-Sword and the fusion technique) that will define the arc's next several episodes, making it essential connective tissue between the initial Buu rampage and the confrontations ahead.
