Episode Context

This episode immediately follows the conclusion of the Super 17 Saga and serves as the launch point for the Shadow Dragon Saga, GT's final and most thematically ambitious arc. The threat introduced here is a direct product of every Dragon Ball wish ever made, making it unlike any villain the series has faced before. What unfolds over the remaining sixteen episodes stems directly from the dark premise established right here.
