This was a legendary episode and it will forever have a place in my heart as Goku went Super Saiyan 4 for the first time. The soundtrack, the emotional build-up with Pan as Goku came to his senses and the design of the form all enticed the moment.

Episode Context

Arriving at the midpoint of the series, this episode represents the climactic peak of the Baby arc, delivering the full transformation that the previous episode had been building toward. The groundwork laid across Goku's struggle against Baby now crystallizes into a decisive shift in power dynamics. What follows sets up Baby's countermove, pushing the conflict into its next phase and keeping the arc's tension firmly unresolved despite the milestone reached here.
