Episode Context

Coming directly off the series premiere, where Goku's accidental de-aging set the entire plot in motion, this episode completes the departure setup and gets the crew off the ground toward the Black Star Dragon Balls. It marks the true beginning of the space expedition arc that will define GT's first major stretch. What happens here locks in the core trio dynamic and sets the tone for the adventure-comedy balance the show will maintain through the early arc.
