Doura

When a dark sorcerer kidnaps his sister Ayame, Hiroshi is driven across a fantasy world on a mission to bring her back. That's the setup for Doura, a 4-episode OVA from 2001 that blends sword-and-sorcery action with explicit content — so know going in what you're signing up for. The world has a decent amount of texture to it: magic systems, rival factions, characters with their own agendas that don't always line up with Hiroshi's. It's not just a chase story. The people he meets along the way have their own loyalties and contradictions, and that gives the early episodes more narrative weight than you might expect from the genre. The action sequences hold up reasonably well for the era, and the intimate scenes are woven into the story rather than feeling completely disconnected from it. If you've watched things like Fencer of Minerva or Adventure Kid and enjoyed that early-2000s fantasy-erotica OVA format, Doura sits comfortably in that same space. Another Lady Innocent fans who appreciate when there's actual plot threading through the explicit content will probably find something to like here too. It's adapted from a visual novel, which shows — there's more character backstory and world-building than the runtime strictly needs, but that's not really a complaint.
