Again, it takes me by surprise that this anime is more ridiculous than the setting made it out to be. The contrast is what makes this story work and engaging. Unlike most buddy cop I've watched, there's no negative tension between the two as Doug acts encouraging, helpful, not dismissive while Kirill is receptive without being too cocky. As they got to know one another, so do the audience.
