Dororo Episode 3: The Story of Jukai

I really like the backstory here. It's a bit slower, but seeing how the doctor basically gave Hyakkimaru a second chance at life was actually pretty touching.

Flashback episodes usually kill momentum but this one actually ADDS to the story. Jukai's backstory is tragic af, the Hyakkimaru training montage is clean, and that parallel with Tahomaru sets up future drama perfectly.

The feeling here is heavy. You can feel the moral complexity building. Hyakkimaru barely speaks, yet you feel everything through him.
