EPISODE REVIEWS

Best plot

Episode 1 delivers a good introduction to this anime. The mystery surrounding the story is insane. The monologue at the beginning immediately sets a curious and slightly eerie tone, making you wonder about the true nature of Night Raven College and the reason the MC was brought.

Episode Context

A fantasy isekai premiere that wastes no time dropping its protagonist into unfamiliar territory. Yuuken Enma wakes up in the strange world of Twisted Wonderland with no explanation, and the episode leans hard into that disorientation. Expect a brisk pace that prioritizes atmosphere and world-building over exposition dumps, Night Raven College is introduced as an alluring but unpredictable setting steeped in dark fairy-tale energy. Key players are established quickly: the eccentric headmaster Dire Crowley and the chaotic creature Grim both bring personality that offsets the mystery. Tonally, it balances genuine intrigue with lighter comedic beats, keeping things accessible without losing its edge. Themes of identity and belonging simmer beneath the surface. This is a setup episode through and through, but it commits fully to making its world feel worth exploring.
