Episode Context

Landing at episode 34 of 48, this episode arrives in the aftermath of the brutal conflict with Kurata's forces, a stretch of the season that has steadily dismantled the team's sense of security. Touma's personal loyalties and hidden burdens, hinted at throughout the series, are pushed to the foreground here rather than the ongoing external threat. It functions as a critical emotional pivot point that reshapes the team's dynamics heading into the final stretch of the season.
