Episode Context

Sitting at the exact midpoint of the 48-episode run, this episode arrives directly after a significant blow to Masaru, his memory erasure in Episode 26, and uses that disruption to launch Kurata's extermination operation into full motion. It formally introduces the Bio-Hybrids as recurring antagonists, raising the stakes considerably for the DATS team's counteroffensive. Everything from here builds toward a larger conflict between the human and Digital Worlds, making this a pivotal entry that redefines the show's second half.
