Episode Context

Arriving at the exact midpoint of the 48-episode run, this episode follows the team's return to the Digital World and delivers the backstory payoff that earlier arcs have been building toward. It crystallizes the human-Digimon conflict into something personal and morally complicated, particularly through Kurata's emerging role as a central antagonist. The next episode shifts from revelation to escalation, as Kurata's ambitions move from shadow into direct threat.
