Destined for Love

Synopsis
A childhood promise becomes a crisis when the girl Shinya Fujimi swore he'd be with turns out to be his future sister-in-law. When Akane Mihara transfers to his high school, Shinya realizes she's the same girl he swore he'd be with when they grew up. The catch: his older brother Shogo is already engaged to her through a family arrangement, and the wedding clock is ticking. Rather than quietly accepting how things turned out, Shinya decides to do something about it, which leads him to an unconventional source of guidance — his current sister-in-law Sayumi, who agrees to help him understand what it takes to truly connect with a woman. It's a messy, uncomfortable situation that the story leans into rather than glosses over, and that tension is honestly what makes it worth watching. The family dynamics here are genuinely tangled in ways that feel specific rather than generic, and the drama has some actual weight to it. If you liked Aniyome for its complicated relationship webs, or Futari Ecchi for romance that does not shy away from intimacy, this two-episode OVA from Dream Entertainment covers similar ground with a more dramatic edge. Based on a visual novel, it carries that source material's focus on internal conflict and emotional buildup. Short runtime, dense setup, and enough character complexity to make the forbidden romance feel earned rather than cheap.
