This episode ties into the previous storyline despite Junko's absence as it finally reveals the two mysterious figures who were observing the events from the previous episode. There's also a pretty big lore drop about the Dark Ages along with some information about the Oasis Government. More importantly, this episode kicks off a storyline that connects all the way back to Ep 10 and sets the stage for an event that could affect the entire world.
