A breathtaking farewell unlike anything the series has done before. Old wounds are healed, old bonds reaffirmed, and a final crossing into the afterlife is rendered with extraordinary grace.

This episode was captivating. There's a motherly feel to it from the first half with Miyokichi. The rakugo act in this episode is well done as expected by Hatsutaro. His body language combined with his facial expressions illustrates his talent. Excellent surreal storytelling.

We return to the real world to see how the survivors carry the torch. The focus on the next generation shows that while the masters die, the stories find a way to breathe through new lungs. A very hopeful, grounding watch.
