Episode Context

Coming off the summer festival energy and competitive duels of Episode 8, Episode 9 pivots sharply into mystery territory, using urban legends to deepen the show's central questions about augmented reality and what lurks within it. Sitting roughly at the one-third mark of the 26-episode run, this installment functions as a critical bridge, introducing the Michiko mythology that feeds directly into Episode 10's 'Kanna's Diary,' where Haraken's personal history and Daikoku City's deeper secrets begin surfacing in earnest.
