I really enjoyed most of Mitsuri's scenes in this episode since it showed more of her sword breathing technique. Her interactions with the others in the Swordsmith Village were so funny. Most of Gyokko's scenes were pretty difficult to watch because of what he did to the blacksmiths in the village, it was both so uncomfortable and sad to watch.

Watching Muichiro slowly remember who he really was made this episode feel so emotional to me. Behind all the amazing fight scenes, there was so much pain and loneliness in his story that genuinely hit hard.

The intensity climbs here. The fights get more creative, and it’s clear the enemies aren’t simple obstacles. You start to see characters take risks they normally wouldn’t. The animation is sharp, especially in key moments, but what stands out most is how desperate everything feels. It’s high energy from start to finish.

ufotable chose violence. water effects, spatial awareness, camera breathing through action — stunning. but the emotional current underneath every exchange is what makes it more than spectacle. best fight episode of the arc easily.

The bright red sword moment was visually insane. Animation on the color change and glow popped off the screen. Felt powerful and emotional. Atmosphere intense gave me chills from how it shifted everything.

What an animation. I really love the coloring in this anime, and this episode showed how great the visuals are once again. The combat felt wild, the action was strong, and the duo combo was really fun to watch.

Tanjiro unleashes a "Sun Halo Dragon" in a visual masterpiece of flames. Mitsuri finally arrives, using her ribbon-sword with fluid, beautiful graphics to save the village chief. The suspense builds as Genya reveals a terrifying demon-like form!

the combination of tanjiro's breath of sun and nezuko's blood demon arts is marvelous in it's execution and the animation is so fluid that it had me at the edge of my seat. MUST WATCH

This episode has an unexpected change specially Genya. Battle is to intense with a gruesome scene definitely a GOAT episode.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the season's midpoint, Episode 5 capitalizes on the village breach established in Episode 4, pushing the defensive battle into its most desperate phase yet. Muichiro and Mitsuri's individual confrontations deepen significantly here, building character momentum that feeds directly into Episode 6, 'Aren't You Going to Become a Hashira?' This is the pivot point where setup transitions into full-blown payoff territory for the arc's back half.
