Episode Context

Coming off episode 10's major revelations about Kotori's connection to Ifrit, 'Countdown' functions as the calm-before-the-storm bridge between those bombshell reveals and the season finale, 'That Which Cannot Be Forgiven.' It uses Shido's date preparations and Origami's parallel investigation to position every key player exactly where they need to be for the climax. As episode 11 of 12, this is the final piece of setup before the season delivers its emotional and narrative payoff.
