Episode two Keitaro goes to his grandmother's shrine with Yayoi to get an exorcism. There they find a forbidden room full of dangerous cursed dolls, leading to another scary supernatural encounter
The series is finally getting into its main plot with the dolls and spirits and I'm liking it. The creepy atmosphere is still strong but the dark comedy keeps things from becoming too heavy. But wtf was that HAND! That thing genuinely sent chills through my entire body. The doll was creepy too but Yayoi's ending scene was somehow even worse. Also her goofy little shoes caught me completely off guard lol.
It locks in a brilliant dynamic between Keitaro's panic and Yayoi's eerie calm. The writing maintains a tight pace as her true motives surface. The shadow-heavy visuals make the shrine atmosphere pop. It evolves the horror setup into something genuinely clever.
