📖 SYNOPSIS
Dan Da Dan Season 2: Cursed Houses, Alien Mechs, and the Best Romance in Shonen If the first season of Dan Da Dan felt like a fever dream, Season 2 is the full-blown psychedelic trip we’ve all been waiting for. After a cliffhanger that left our hearts (and Okarun’s dignity) hanging, the series returned in July 2025 to prove that Science SARU hasn't just maintained the bar—they’ve sent it into orbit. Between the "Evil Eye" arc and the sheer insanity of the "Cursed House," this season is officially peak fiction.
Manga Integration: Your Roadmap to the Occult For the fans who need to know exactly where the anime fits into Yukinobu Tatsu’s legendary panels, here is the breakdown. Season 1 left off at the very start of the Cursed House Arc.
Start Point: Season 2 kicks off with Chapter 34, picking up right after Okarun and Jiji peek into that terrifying hidden room.
End Point: The season covers the massive Cursed House and Evil Eye arcs, concluding at Chapter 71.
Where to Pick Up: If you’ve finished the Season 2 finale and can't wait for Season 3, start reading from Chapter 72 (Volume 9). This begins the "Kaiju/Vamola" arc, which is somehow even more chaotic than what you just watched.
Plot & Setting: Welcome to the House of Horrors The setting shifts from the school rooftop to the eerie countryside of Kamikoshi. We follow Momo, Okarun, and the new "handsome rival" Jiji as they investigate Jiji’s family home—a place so cursed that it makes the Turbo Granny’s tunnel look like a playground.
The plot quickly spirals from a simple haunting into a massive conspiracy involving the Kito Clan, a ritualistic sacrifice to a giant Mongolian Death Worm, and the introduction of the Evil Eye, a spirit fueled by centuries of resentment. It’s a claustrophobic, high-stakes nightmare that tests the limits of the group’s teamwork and Momo and Okarun’s "it’s complicated" relationship status.
Why You Should Watch It: The Science SARU Flex The Animation (Sakuga): Episode 8, "You Can Do It Okarun," is an absolute masterclass. Watching Okarun train against the spirits of dead classical composers in a strobe-lit, high-tempo orchestral battle is easily one of the best animated sequences of 2025.
The Romantic Tension: While the monsters are great, the real "hook" is the chemistry between Momo and Okarun. Their growth this season is genuinely touching; they aren't just "shonen leads"—they’re two awkward kids falling in love while fighting for their lives.
The "Evil Eye" Design: This is one of the coolest cursed entities in recent memory. A soccer-ball-shaped spirit of death that fights with chaotic, kinetic energy? It’s pure Dan Da Dan energy.
New Addition - Kintaka: Just when you think the cast is full, we get the "Mecha King" Sakata Kintaka. His transition from a social outcast to a man piloting a Buddha-mecha is the kind of absurd brilliance only this show can pull off.
Final Verdict: Who is this for? Rating: 10/10 – The Gold Standard of Modern Shonen.
