EPISODE REVIEWS

The princess's parents are SO funny. I think this episode does a better job of handling humor than the previous one. In the first episode, the characters seemed like they belonged in a freak show, but this one clearly mocks the various tropes of the fantasy genre aimed to women, and I really appreciate that. I especially like the passive-aggressive dialogue between Ani and Grimaru. The characters are so over-the-top that sometimes they stop being funny because their intentions and future actions are so predictable. Ani seems to be the most normal of them all, but she has her quirks too. Suddenly, the tone of the episode changes drastically towards the end, which is quite confusing.

I actually don't feel bored with this episode's pacing because the flow of the story is so entertaining that it never feels sluggish to me. In addition, it really made me smile with its delightfully adorable and humorous character. Moreover, Ani's pragmatic reactions were precisely relatable and highly entertaining. And the character-driven comedy is surely one of the interesting points of this series.

That moment brings a huge sense of relief, as her father's gift of the legendary gem brings assurance that it will come to her aid when the time is right.
