EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming directly after 'Gilmore's Notes,' a recap episode that reestablishes the cyborgs' backstories and personalities, 'Little Visitors' pivots the season toward an extraterrestrial storyline at roughly the midpoint of the 50-episode run. It functions as an arc opener, introducing the alien children and the threat pursuing them, and feeds directly into 'The Awakening,' where the consequences of this episode's events begin to accelerate.
