Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Oshimeter
Synopsis
David Martinez is a broke kid from the slums, about to get chewed up and spit out by Night City. He's attending a fancy corporate academy because his mom works herself to the bone believing he'll climb the ladder at Arasaka, the megacorp that basically owns everything. Then everything falls apart, fast, and David ends up with military-grade cyberware jammed into his spine and zero reason to play by the rules anymore. He falls in with a crew of edgerunners, mercenaries who live hard and burn out harder, including Lucy, a netrunner with her own reasons to hate the corporate machine. This is a 10-episode ONA from Studio Trigger, and their animation style fits this world perfectly, kinetic, stylish, a little unhinged. The action sequences hit different when Trigger's doing them, all fluid motion and visual chaos. But what makes this stick with you isn't the fights, it's the weight underneath. The soundtrack, especially Rosa Walton's 'I Really Want to Stay at Your House,' does emotional damage you won't see coming. If you liked the atmosphere of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex or the raw energy of Akira, this lives in that same neighborhood. It's dark, it's action-packed, and it doesn't waste a single episode across its run. You don't need to have played Cyberpunk 2077 to get it, the story stands completely on its own. Just know going in that it earns those gore tags.

Visually, one of the best anime's I've watched with a compelling storyline which will stay close to my heart. And there are no good endings in Night City.
cried. balled my eyes out.
10/10, would NOT recommend.
The best series i’ve ever watched. Not my favorite, but the emotional impact hit hard, the soundtrack was amazing, the visuals were beautiful, and the writing was wonderful.
I think the episode is a bit rushed?? "Oh no, my mother is injured, the doc said she will be fine. Damn i got bullied, after got punch like crazy, the doc called say that my mother passed away. Jump cut to a 18+ scene, Anyways Im gonna rip my spine to beat the crap out of the bully." The pacing seems a bit odd for me but, still a good episode..
emo impact? off the charts.
Best pieces, beyond script
Really sad ending, only problem would be that I found it a bit hard to understand the whole plot but enjoyed it regardless.
BANG BANG BANG
Nah bros got smoked...

David death
Loved this anime but I was incredibly devo after. Bring on a season 2!
yay nagantihan din yung pangit. altho im concerned for mc now kasi ang daming may gusto sa new spine niya lmao. lucys design is so pretty and i was pretty surprised at the twist
what a brutal yet interesting premise. felt bad for the mum but at the same time, gets ko yung pinanggagalingan ni david. not fully immersed in the series yet, but i am curious kung ano meron sa spine na yon lolol
Trying to tie loose ends from the botched mission from past episodes, David and the crew tried to get more info off of their target through a known BD director but caught up on their own trap, but still able to turn things around their way.
While trying to learn the ropes of being an edgerunner, David gets to know each members more and getting closer as he was left by Maine to Lucy's care which they get to know each other better as a romantic interest. A tragedy has befallen the crew which triggered David to do something he hasn't done before -- kill.
