EPISODE REVIEWS
This spectacular ninth episode delivers a masterclass in subverting high-stakes shounen drama with pure, unfiltered comedic brilliance. In "Inaba Family Breakdown Case (Part Two)," the epic showdown between Hiroshi and his body-snatching father Soumei brilliantly evolves into a hilarious, meta-clash of "Experience vs. New School." Immediately after, the narrative pivots into "Love Flag Jumble Case," where the tone shifts into a chaotic, agenda-driven dating game after Soumei swoops in to save Noah from a disastrous, out-of-control experiment. It beautifully highlights the series' core strength, taking a dark family rivalry and a sci-fi crisis and transforming them into an absolute sensory overload of strategic mind games and brilliant visual gags.
It is adorable to watch chibi Kei Nozaki covered in bandages after pushing himself way too hard, while Stella kneels down to comfort a completely burned out, glowing cat creature on the floor.
Seeing Soumei Inaba coldly draw a handgun and point it right at Hiroshi Inaba's forehead show's the usual goofy mood into a genuinely tense and gripping confrontation.
