Annoyed at the Shirly arc tho understandable as it was necessary.

Shirley arc gets way too messy here. Mao’s mind-reading gimmick feels more annoying than threatening, and the emotional payoff is just Lelouch wiping her memories again. Tragic, sure, but it leans more frustrating than impactful this time

C.C.’s past with Mao adds a whole new layer of danger to her character. Mao being permanently stuck hearing thoughts is honestly horrifying conceptually only

Shirley forgetting at the end is one of the most painful ‘necessary’ decisions in the whole series.

A new character is been introduced and as the title says it is indeed Geass vs Geass. The ending of the episode is emotional :')

This one was emotionally heavy and kinda heartbreaking. I saw it coming, but I still wish Lelouch handled things differently. Still, that new character intro? Now that’s interesting. Feels like someone who can actually challenge him. I’m excited (and nervous) for what’s next.

nobody wants to be lelouch at this point. he is getting trapped and having loose ends. I think what happen in this episode adds complicated situations on lelouch, I think it's unnecessary, but it just adds more problem to lelouch.

Endless school festival chatter kills all momentum. Lelouch suddenly forgets how to strategize against a mind-reader. "Internal politics" = vague mentions with zero payoff. All setup, no delivery. Total filler pretending to be plot. Skip it. 🗑️

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting right past the halfway mark at episode 14 of 25, this follows the emotionally charged 'Shirley at Gunpoint' and marks the beginning of the Mao arc, a crucial stretch that pressure-tests Lelouch's intellect and moral compromises through a Geass user who operates on entirely different rules. It directly sets up 'Cheering Mao,' continuing this psychological confrontation and deepening the show's exploration of what Geass costs its wielders.
