The plot introduces a world reconstructed entirely with clockwork, where Naoto, a gear-obsessed boy, accidentally reactivates an Automata named RyuZU. Character designs are striking, especially RyuZU’s "Initial-Y" aesthetic, which blends Victorian lace with intricate metallic plating. The visuals use a warm, sepia-toned palette to emphasize the brass and copper machinery of the world.Specific Moment: The moment Naoto hears the "tick" of a broken gear from miles away, establishing his supernatural affinity for mechanics.
This introduction episode gives a great overview of the setting and the why the world is the way it is. The exposition is quick which helps the pacing. While there were a few weird, unnecessary moments, most of it offered good, comical character writing, especially for RyuZU.
This anime amazes me with how the creator deliberately makes everything work with machines, even by the clock. Amazingly, the concept of this anime is a future that will happen on Earth. From this first episode, I would rate this as 10/10, and must watch.
