This is the point where the show's whole dynamic shifts in a way you might not have seen coming if you have been watching from episode one. Nagisa in a completely new position changes the energy of every scene he is in. Watching him navigate a room full of people used to getting their way was one of the most satisfying stretches of the series so far. The second half of this show feels like it is operating on a different level than the first half. Really good episode.
Learning about Nagisa's past explains everything about why he acts so cold and driven right now. It makes his current actions and revenge plot make complete sense. It shows he isn't just a harsh corporate boss, he was shaped by some really tough experiences.
