📖 SYNOPSIS
After going to another world, defeating the Demon Lord, and coming back to Japan, Hinata Sunohara figured the whole isekai hero thing was behind him. Except Mariabelle, his dark elf companion from the other world, apparently didn't get the memo about staying behind. She followed him to Earth, and now she's living in his house, using magic to scare off any girl who gets too close, and generally treating his mundane high school life like a battlefield for his affection. This mini anime TV series is the chibi companion piece to the main show, airing alongside each episode on AT-X. It takes all the clingy dark elf energy from the parent series and distills it into short, punchy comedy sketches. The chibi art style leans hard into the absurdity — Mariabelle's jealousy and magical overreactions hit differently when everyone's drawn like little bobbleheads. If you liked the fish-out-of-water comedy in The Devil is a Part-Timer or the possessive supernatural roommate vibes of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, this is in that same neighborhood, just in bite-sized form. At 12 episodes with a short runtime each, you can knock the whole thing out in one sitting without committing your entire evening. It's not trying to be deep — it knows exactly what it is, and it's pretty comfortable there. Good for when you want something light and dumb in the best way.
