Even though it’s been over a decade since I first watched this series, it still managed to capture my attention all over again. I found myself laughing just as much and genuinely enjoying this rewatch. I honestly thought I wouldn’t enjoy it as much since I’d already seen it back when I was in high school, but I was completely wrong. This anime brought back the same excitement I felt back then whenever I watched anime. It is so nostalgic.
Hace mucho que no veía este anime y por supuesto es uno de los clásicos que todo otaku debe ver al menos una vez en su vida. En este capítulo conocemos a nuestros dos protagonistas. El primero es el humano Hideki, un aspirante a universitario que viene del campo, como este no es tan cercano a la tecnología no tiene un persocon, computadoras en forma de personas y que pueden hacer cualquier cosa por ti. Allí nos encontramos con nuestra segunda protagonista, un persocon que solo dice Chii. Qué pasará con este par de protagonistas????
THIS IS A CLASSIC! It's so interesting to watch this anime (adapted from a manga from the 2000s) now, 26 years in the future. What once seemed like a fantasy beyond our reach is now something that (with enough budget) can become a reality. The way the characters talk about technology and the internet is so nostalgic that I certainly miss when technology was synonymous with progress, not regression. Be warned, this anime has the ecchi humor of a less...filtered era. The scene where Hideki turns Chii on drags on a bit too long for my taste, and the implications of Shinbo's mobile persocom, Sumomo, browsing porn sites are quite disturbing. It's the CLAMP of the 2000s; you should know that before sitting down to watch this anime. But there's a good reason why this anime is so well-known; you just have to keep watching. By the way, the scene of Chii waking up has beautiful animation! And UGH the OPENING!! SUCH A CLASSIC
