Chinetsu Karte: The Devilish Cherry
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Takumi, bedridden with nothing to do, decides his recovery time is best spent pursuing the nurses assigned to his care. That's the whole setup — and if you're already nodding, this two-episode OVA from 2009 delivers exactly what you'd expect from that premise. Nurse Shiori becomes his first target, and what starts as flirtation quickly escalates into something more complicated, pulling in other staff members as Takumi's influence spreads through the ward. The hospital setting gives the whole thing a slightly forbidden, closed-environment tension that fans of the genre tend to gravitate toward. Compared to something like Night Shift Nurses, this one has a bit more narrative connective tissue between scenes — there's actual character dynamic at play rather than just scene-to-scene encounters. If you've seen Bible Black and liked how it used a contained setting to build momentum, Chinetsu Karte operates in a similar space. The art style leans realistic rather than exaggerated, and the animation holds up reasonably well for a studio production of this era. It's short — two episodes — so it doesn't overstay its welcome or try to build mythology it can't support. For anyone looking for something in the vein of Discipline: The Record of a Crusade but with a tighter runtime and a hospital aesthetic, this fits that niche comfortably. Go in knowing what it is and you'll get exactly that.
