Synopsis
Working as a dedicated nurse, Haruka is just trying to do her job at a hospital that turns out to be a lot more sinister than it looks. The chief doctor isn't exactly running an ethical practice — he's manipulating the nursing staff, using his authority to pull people into increasingly dark situations. Haruka gets caught in the middle of it, and what starts as workplace discomfort spirals into something much heavier about power, coercion, and how far someone will bend before they break. This is a single-episode OVA from 2001, so it moves fast and doesn't waste time on setup. The character designs are detailed for the era, and there's more psychological texture here than you'd expect — the dynamic between Haruka and the doctor isn't just surface-level, it's genuinely uncomfortable in a way that makes you pay attention to what's actually happening between them. If you've seen Kankin or anything in that confined-space psychological territory, you'll recognize the vibe — it's dark, it's unsettling, and it leans into the moral corruption angle rather than glossing over it. Fans of Shoujo Tsubaki who appreciate when darker material actually commits to its themes rather than playing it safe might find something here worth sitting with. Just go in knowing the tone is bleak and intentional, not accidental.
