📖 SYNOPSIS

"Chiisana Love Letter: Mariko to Nemunoki no Kodomo-tachi" depicts the 14-year period of actress Mariko Miyagi's involvement with the Silk Tree Academy (Nemunoki Gakuen), a rehabilitation center for disabled children. The anime, set in the 1970s, focuses on Miyagi's relationships with the children at the academy. The story is divided into four seasonal chapters, offering a glimpse into the lives of the children and Miyagi's role as their caretaker. The character designs are highly realistic, based on the actual people involved. The anime's storyboarding was handled by Noboru Ishiguro, known for his work on Star Blazers. The anime continues the handicapped theme, similar to the studio's previous work, but focuses on a wholly Japanese story.
