Moving the fight to Yokohama was such a good move! Mira's ability was pure hype, and her rivalry with Kyouka adds a fun energy. That ending with Kuusetsu though O_O legit caught me off guard.

This chapter was an absolute mind-bender, it felt like a chess match where every move was a trap ♟️The way the story is unfolding is stunning 🌈💎 but the plot twist at the end I did not see that coming!!

The commander of the 2nd Squadron is probably part of my favorites now. She may be tough and always angry, but she is caring and kind at heart <3

Did not expect the character backstory of a new squad leader to be quite the surprise. But at the same time, this felt like a slow episode before it suddenly picked up speed and ended with a cliffhanger

Really liking the tactical side of the combat this season. The squad dynamics are solid and the pacing in on point. No borin parts, just straight to the action . Definitely worth the watch. Much better flow and better fights.

I watched this episode, and this is a decent, mid-interest episode with fun action and character moments. Nothing groundbreaking, but it balances combat, comedy, and fan service well while setting up what’s next. I'll give 7.5/10.

This was so good even though there's a lot of anime that have similar story flow but this anime was so unexpected and so good. Very recommended!

This episode gives new characters room to shine, presenting interesting personality contrasts and adding color to the team dynamic.

This episode did a lot of worldbuilding efficiently. The Yokohama kidnappings tied to a phasing Thunder God is the most interesting antagonist setup this season. Mira being assigned with a disposal unit makes sense strategically. Good setup.

Yakumo grabbing Yuuki and being like LETS GO TO HOT SPRINGS is peak comedy. But the Yokohama case is giving horror vibes a Thunder God kidnapping women and PHASING THROUGH BUILDINGS?? Mira volunteering to go was so cool she's such a queen.

The commanders meeting was packed with info this time. Yokohama missing women case is creepy and a Thunder God that can phase through buildings is terrifying. Yakumo wanting to borrow Yuuki for hot springs was hilarious as always.

For all its modern digital coloring and ecchi bait, this one was... not entirely insufferable, I guess. Still, ain't no Akira on Laserdisc, kids, we used to have *standards* for actual animation before all this bland CGI! 😒

Could've been actually dark with that debate on total elimination and ambiguous threats, but then it got bogged down by cringe rom-com shit, so mid 😐.

Mid? Nah this one avoided the mid police for once. Still overrated tho 😤

I-It's not like I cared about Kyouka being all possessive over Yuuki or anything, and that x-ray vision was just for... tactical reasons, b-baka! whatever, it was kinda meh, I guess. 🙄

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 7's lighthearted summer break served as the season's last exhale before things get serious, and Episode 8 is the hard pivot toward the Yokohama conflict that will likely dominate the final stretch. Sitting at the two-thirds point of a 12-episode run, this installment functions as the connective tissue between downtime and all-out war, establishing the key authority figures and factional tensions necessary for the escalation ahead. Everything here is designed to raise the stakes so the coming battles carry real narrative weight.
