EPISODE REVIEWS

This episode delivers a strong emotional escalation without sacrificing the action. The interpersonal tensions built up earlier begin to reach a fever pitch, giving every decision on the battlefield greater weight.

Episode Context

Sitting at the exact midpoint of Season 2's 12-episode run, 'A New Azuma' follows directly from 'The Azuma Banquet,' which introduced the family's internal power dynamics and set the table for this deeper dive into the sisters' relationship. This episode serves as the emotional foundation for the Azuma subplot, establishing character motivations and tensions that will clearly pay off in the back half of the season as the broader Shuuki conflict escalates.
