READTHROUGH
The Pressure Cooker Afterlife
The episode opens on a scene of furious corporate zeal, with a unit chief exhorting his soul-capture employees to meet their quotas, even vowing sobriety until they do. This high-stakes environment immediately establishes the afterlife as a bureaucratic nightmare, where souls are mere numbers on a ledger. Amidst this frenzy, Tetsuo Tanba finds his unit, Dandelion, in a state of relaxed disarray, while Misaki Kurogane calmly researches potential soul locations. Their easygoing attitude stands in stark contrast to the intense pressure that permeates their spectral workplace.
Starvation Wages
A superior arrives to deliver a chilling announcement: salaries are now entirely performance-based, threatening immediate financial ruin for underperforming units. Tetsuo's initial nonchalance dissolves into genuine alarm as he grasps the immediate, physical threat this poses to his team. He retreats to watch old wrestling tapes with Isobe, a large masked man, finding fleeting comfort in nostalgia. This quiet reflection on older, simpler times highlights the growing complexity of modern souls, whose lingering regrets make them harder to collect.
The Marshmallow AI
A small, squishy, marshmallow-like creature with pink glasses suddenly appears, surprising Tetsuo and Misaki. Initially mistaken for a plush toy, the creature expresses its real anger at being prodded and introduces itself as Mini Proto, an Angel AI navigation prototype. It declares its mission to train the 'incompetent' Dandelion unit in soul capture. Though Tetsuo finds its self-importance amusing, Mini Proto quickly demonstrates its capabilities, projecting a city-wide holographic map and pinpointing a wandering soul's exact location, sprouts small wings and demands they follow its orders.
The Elusive Boxer
The team sets out, with Tetsuo pedaling a bicycle, Misaki on the back, and Mini Proto flying overhead, constantly chiding their slow pace. They quickly locate their target, Naito, a wandering soul in a red tracksuit. Tetsuo's attempt at a calm escort is met with a powerful boxing punch from Naito, who clearly has no intention of going quietly. The initial confrontation ends with Naito's escape and Mini Proto's furious scolding of the unit's disorganization.
The Possessed Kangaroo
The chase leads the Dandelion unit to the local zoo, where they meticulously search for Naito among the animal exhibits. A momentary distraction, an elephant glowing with a massive purple aura, allows Naito to slip away, frustrating the team. Mini Proto then loses the signal entirely, blaming the unit's ineptitude, only for a nearby kangaroo to begin exhibiting strange, professional boxing footwork. They soon realize Naito has possessed the animal, gaining physical speed and power.
Taking the Fight Physical
The possessed kangaroo breaks free from its enclosure, causing widespread panic and chaos as it bounds through the park with surprising agility. Naito, reveling in the animal's physical strength, feels rejuvenated and powerful within its form. To counter this new threat, Mini Proto provides Tetsuo with two blue pills that temporarily grant him a physical body. Tetsuo swallows the pill, preparing for a direct confrontation, as his body briefly glows with a new, tangible presence.
A Boxer's Regret
Tetsuo corners the kangaroo in a plaza, engaging it in a physical fight, only to be sent flying by a powerful kick. Despite the brute force, Naito pauses, and through the kangaroo, begins to weep, pouring out the story of his unfulfilled boxing dreams. Tetsuo, bruised but sympathetic, finds himself moved to tears by the tale of a boxer who never won a title. A series of black-and-white flashbacks reveal Naito's relentless training and the untimely accident that cut short his career, fueling his powerful refusal to move on.
The Champion's Farewell
To help Naito finally clear his regrets, Tetsuo challenges him to one final boxing match within a spiritual arena. The fight is intense, a technical exchange of jabs and hooks, yet both combatants share smiles of genuine respect, each giving their absolute best. After the climactic match, Naito's soul is satisfied, finally ready to cross over. The team then fulfills his last wish, taking him to a luxurious rooftop hotel, where he experiences the glamorous life he always dreamed of before dissolving into the light of the afterlife.
The Overseer's True Form
With their mission successfully, if unconventionally, completed, the Dandelion unit walks back through the park, Mini Proto still offering its sharp criticisms of their methods. Tetsuo and Misaki, however, feel a quiet pride in their unique approach. Their banter is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Masaki Kyoga, who introduces himself as a new escort monitor. The twist reveals that Masaki had been disguised as Mini Proto all along, observing their methods firsthand, much to the unit's immediate frustration.
The Woman in the Rain
The episode ends with a cryptic final scene, as a mysterious woman with long black hair stands alone in a rain-slicked alley. Illuminated by the neon glow of a snack bar sign, she looks towards the camera with a subtle, enigmatic smile. Her quiet yet potent presence suggests a deeper, more dangerous narrative is waiting in the shadows. The episode closes on this note of intrigue, leaving the audience to ponder her significance.
EPISODE REVIEWS

This is such a chaotically fun plot for an anime. It feels like watching a mix and match of an anime in a good way! such an interesting style

Divertido, entretenido y buena animación. La música también es divertida y está buena.
