Episode Context

This episode pivots away from the preceding 'Welcome to Bocchan Restaurant' arc, launching a fresh two-part Kaitou Kid storyline that pairs the phantom thief against Inspector Morofushi's formidable intellect. It serves as pure setup for Episode 984, 'Kid vs. Komei: The Targeted Lips (Part Two),' where the heist and deductions reach their climax. As a canon Kid episode featuring multiple recurring detectives, it functions as a standout event within the broader episodic landscape of Detective Conan.
